Techcrunch just posted a read on Screentoasters new, online, Java based recording application for creating those video tutorials on your PC. Once they pointed on the negatives, they also pointed out that a very similar online app, called Screencast-O-Matic, already has this ability, plus some of what Screentoaster is missing, the exporting of audio and video, plus subtitles and notes.
On screen recording has become a huge hit with the explosion of video sites, and it being an easy way to give quick, viewable, tutorials on anything and everything. This is a prime example of how offline applications are slowly becoming the past. Screencast-O-Matic

The main problem with screencast-o-matic is that its terribly slow and bad quality. Screentoaster is about to implement subtitles in a few days and audio features in a couple of months.

Huh, I’ll have to check it out, in that case…I would just like to start posting some stuff on YouTube, and Screencast looked like a better option, but I’ll keep both of them marked.
