Play Flash Files in Windows with Play FLV

Freeware, Windows

Downloading YouTube videos to your PC for archiving has become popular as of late with many built-in tools for Firefox and other browsers. The problem is that after downloading them, Windows does not play them natively, and you’re then required to download a FLV player of some kind and run-it seperately from the already included Windows Media Player.

Well, along with just about every other video format in the world, where a codec can be installed to play that particular format in Windows, there is a free flash(FLV) player add-on that allows you to play videos right within your Windows Media Player. It’s called PlayFLV.

PlayFLV simply adds a plug-in to your existing Windows Media Player and allows for quick access to play your videos without the need of a third party flash player. This way saving all of your YouTube moments, and playing them back is made much easier.

I am a long time techaholic, blogger and IT administrator living in the Midwestern United States. I have been associated with computers and technology almost my entire life. The obsession started when I first set my eyes on one of the Atari Entertainment Systems and hasn't stopped since. My Dad paid $3000+ for a state of the art PC back in the day, and I have been on one almost my entire life since. It's truly an addiction that I will never give up. Along with my Tech addiction, I also enjoy scouring blogs and the web for anything that may be interesting to write about. Btw, I was the guy that set up the Irish sales for those first Atari Video Entertainment Systems. They were cool alright!
