I was just sitting at the office today, pondering whether I was going to workout tonight. I decided yes due to the nice weather, because running outdoors is my preferred choice. The problem however is that I want to run a certain mileage and I have no idea what distances are around my neighborhood. So I wondered if there were any online apps out there, that I can create my own trails with. Of course there is…and I’m here to write about one of the easiest. (more…)
There is no doubt about it. The internet has made the world lazier. Whether at work or home, the vast majority of people connected to the net have become obsessed with it. Facebook, MySpace, Digg, Blogs, Entertainment, News, etc, etc, etc…we’re ADDICTED! At home it’s not a big deal, but at work it can become a problem. Especially when your boss is crawling up behind you and sneaks a peak at your screen, and you’ve got the latest ESPN scores up. It would be nice to quickly hide what you’re reading huh? Well, that’s what I’m here to talk about today.
Windows troubleshooting can be a serious pain. Booting into safe mode, normal mode, msconfig, registry edits, bad hardware, on and on and on. Sometimes it rolls into a huge continuous loop with no sight of an end. This is especially true when it comes to the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). A quick flash of a blue screen with nothing more then unreadable code, typically in relation to a hardware driver.
Removing software from Windows can sometimes be a a daunting task. The standard Add/Remove in the Windows control panel only does a pseudo effective job cleaning up for old shortcuts, registry entries and system files. Later a more advanced registry cleaner, or program such as Revo Uninstaller is needed.
USB flash drives are a must these days. Now that floppy drives have gone out the backdoor, a flash drive is required to transfer any kind of data between PCs. This is of course unless you do it via the web. Although security is always an issue.
Whenever your PC begins problems, most people try the infamous CTRL-ALT-Delete>Task Manager and determine what processes are running and where. Of course since the beginning of “Windows Time”, we haven’t seen much come about from the Windows Task Manager. A simple display of all running processes, their CPU ID and the memory that they are consuming.
