How blogs can last…

Tutorials

So, it’s been well over a year since I wrote on my original blog, Listikal.com, but yet it still continues to garner several hundred page views/day and still is the money maker in my own personal blogs. I continue to slowly grow with TheWindowsFix.com, and do make just a small amount of money on the side, but Listikal continues to make some spending cash on the side.

Whom do I have to thank for that? Google of course…both for their search engine and for their Adsense. I kind of regret that I stopped posting there, but I wanted to get more free time and wanted to try something new. However, I still have no plans of letting the domain expire, because it easily pays for itself in few months for all of my web hosting, and all of my domains.

It’s just a reminder how far, just a few good posts, and a very good search engine can get you.

I am a long time techaholic, blogger and IT administrator living in the Midwestern United States. I have been associated with computers and technology almost my entire life. The obsession started when I first set my eyes on one of the Atari Entertainment Systems and hasn't stopped since. My Dad paid $3000+ for a state of the art PC back in the day, and I have been on one almost my entire life since. It's truly an addiction that I will never give up. Along with my Tech addiction, I also enjoy scouring blogs and the web for anything that may be interesting to write about. My posts are displayed here at TheWindowsFix, MakeUseOf and ConnectedInternet.

I have the same scenario with my Bookshop Blog. I haven’t posted in a while, focusing on my new one but it continues to make money. If only I have time to create hundreds like it…

Enjoying the new one though and hope to stick with it for a good while. It’s more free form so I can write about whatever strikes my fancy. Best of luck with yours.

Good reminder. I’m amazed at how MY blog has still made some money with me not doing a thing with it. (#):)
