Foldersize or Treesize – Determine Windows Directory/Folder Sizes

Directory and/or folder sizes have been one thing that all versions of Windows have lacked since day one.  Your PC or server is suddenly reaching it’s disk space capacity, and all that you want to know is where has the space gone?  Well, some genius contributors to Sourceforge, came up with what we’ve always needed, the ability to add a column to your Windows Explorer display and see your folder sizes in real time.  The unfortunate part is that they discontinued development on Windows Vista…but there is an alternative.

TreeSize is one of many hard analyzers for directory size.  It’s very simple to use and is Vista capable.  It doesn’t integrate nicely like FolderSize does, but it does give you plenty of detail on all of your data.

I am a long time techaholic, blogger and IT administrator living in the Midwestern United States. I have been associated with computers and technology almost my entire life. The obsession started when I first set my eyes on one of the Atari Entertainment Systems and hasn't stopped since. My Dad paid $3000+ for a state of the art PC back in the day, and I have been on one almost my entire life since. It's truly an addiction that I will never give up. Along with my Tech addiction, I also enjoy scouring blogs and the web for anything that may be interesting to write about.
